1954 First Royal Visit of Queen Elizabeth II Florin Commemorative Coin In Card

The Royal Visit Florin was struck in 1954 to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Australia, the first time a ruling British monarch had ever visited the country.

Historic Pre-Decimal Coin

The last commemorative of the pre-decimal era, this unique florin in F-VF graded quality depicts a lion and a kangaroo, symbolising Britain and Australia respectively. The inscription AUSTRALIA FLORIN and the year-date 1954 frame the coin.

Coloured Presentation Card

The coin is housed in an attractive presentation card depicting imagery of a young Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on the Royal Tour of Australia in 1954.

Queen Elizabeth II Obvers

The reverse was designed by William Leslie Bowles, while the obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was created by Mary Gillick.
